AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry today received the endorsement of the Young Conservatives of Texas (YCT) for re-election.
“Gov. Perry has consistently stood for and defended conservative values regardless of political convenience,” said Tony McDonald, YCT Vice Chairman for Legislative Affairs. “Texans can count on Gov. Perry to uphold principles of low taxes, limited government, personal freedom and protection of life which is why the Young Conservatives of Texas are proud to endorse him for re-election.”
YCT is the oldest non-partisan conservative youth organization in the state of Texas and has been fighting for conservative values for 30 years. YCT and its members participate in all aspects of Texas politics, helping to shape policy through education of students on campus, advocating conservative fiscal and social policies, campus and community activism, campaigning for candidates and releasing the oldest and most respected ratings of the Texas Legislature.
“Few things make me prouder than to see young Texans engaged and involved in the important issues that face our state,” said. Gov. Perry. “The Young Conservatives of Texas are a powerful voice in the effort to espouse the conservative values that have made Texas strong and I am proud to accept their endorsement. These individuals are the future of Texas and I will continue working to fortify conservative principles in our state government to ensure they and their children can enjoy the same freedoms and opportunity we enjoy today.”
