Texas Capitol Vietnam War Monument

A to scale replica of the Texas Capitol Vietnam War Monument made an appearance on the Texas House floor in honor of Memorial Day.

The monument is in honor of the more than 500,000 Vietnam and Vietnam Era veterans that live in Texas.  3,415 Texans were killed in action in Vietnam, and 107 Texans still have not returned home.  12 Texans were recipients of the Medal of Honor for their service in Vietnam.

The Texas Capitol Vietnam War Monument is being built from private donations and no tax dollars will be spent on it.  The monument is expected to be dedicated in early 2013.

Help the honor our veterans and help the monument be finished on time by making a donation here.

The 22 acres of the Texas Capitol grounds have monuments honoring the Alamo, pioneer women, confederate soldiers, firefighters, WW I, WW II, Texas cowboys, Spanish-American War, Pearl Harbor, Ten Commandments, Disabled Veterans, Texas Children, Korean War and numerous others, it is time the Vietnam Veterans had their place as well.
