Sarah Palin Endorses Ted Cruz for US Senate

Right before early voting starts in Texas Ted Cruz picked up the endorsement of Governor Sarah Palin and her husband Todd for his bid for the open US Senate seat.

Governor Sarah Palin stated

“We’re proud to join conservatives in Texas and throughout the nation in supporting your campaign to become the next Senator from the Lone Star State.”

“Your conservative principles, passionate defense of our Constitution and our free market system come at a time when these cornerstones of our freedom and prosperity are under attack,” Governor Palin added. “Our shared goal isn’t just to change the majority in control of the Senate, but to assure principled conservatives like you are there to fight for us.”

Below are a couple of media reports covering the Sarah Palin endorsement.

It still remains to be seen why the accounts were suspended in the first place by twitter.  Twitter still has some explaining to do on this one.

Is Sarah Palin Endorsing Dr. Donna Campbell and Bill Flores?

The Texas Insider is reporting that on her facebook page Sarah Palin is “hinting” at support for Dr. Donna Campbell who is running in CD-25 against incumbent ultra liberal Loyd Doggett.

Below is from Sarah Palin’s facebook page.

I will venture to say that this is a prelude to a full blown endorsement, but we shall see what happens tomorrow and if the candidates listed above get Sarah Palin’s coveted endorsement (Note: Governor Perry received Palin’s endorsement in the GOP primary).

No matter what happens tomorrow, this is great news for the candidates listed above.

One of the candidates listed above Bill Flores might about to be having his best week ever.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is pulling out of the CD-17 race where incumbent liberal Chet Edwards is struggling against a strong GOP challenger Bill Flores.

Say what you want about the Republican and Democratic congressional campaign committees run out of Washington DC, but they are ruthless when it comes to dropping a campaign that they no longer think is competitive.  There are just to many other races across the country to be investing their limited resources in a non-competitive race.  There is no way Edwards can spin this one.

In the past we have seen the Republican committee dropping the Republican challenger facing off against Chet Edwards, it is refreshing to see it the other way finally!

Staggering Abortions Staticstics for Texas

In light of Heroic Media’s fundraiser last night in Austin headlining Sarah Palin and Governor Perry here are some staggering statistics on abortions in Texas in 2008.

In 2008 there were 81,591 abortions in Texas.

Of those that, 8,381 were performed on women who had two previous abortions.

Another 2,890 were performed on women who had had three previous abortions.

Another 992 were performed on women who had four previous abortions.

Another 684 were performed on women who had five or more previous abortions.

All of these stats are from this Austin American Statesman article.

These abortion statistics for Texas just goes to show that we must support Heroic Media’s efforts to educate people about alternatives to abortion and to let them know there is help out there for them.  Here is how Heroic Media describes its goal

Heroic Media is a Majella Cares Outreach. Heroic Media is a faith-based non-profit that reduces abortion by creating a Culture of Life through television, billboard and internet advertising that connects women in crisis with life-affirming resource centers.
