President Obama Raising Money in Austin

On July 17th President Obama will be in Austin to raise money at two separate fundraisers.  There is a “low dollar” afternoon fundraiser at the Austin Music Hall with a performance by Jerry Jeff Walker for $250 and a high dollar private dinner for $25,000 a couple that evening.

Vote Today for City of Austin Elections

Today is election day for the City of Austin elections.  Austin City Council members and the Mayor are all up for reelection.  Do you agree with the City of Austin bag ban or the Austin Energy utility rates sky rocketing due to the city purchasing expensive green energy?  Now is your chance to be heard.

You can find your voting location here.  Check your new yellow voter registration card for the number of your voting precinct.  You can find a sample ballot here.

The Travis County Republican Party recommends voting for Laura Pressley for City Council Place 2, Dom Chavez for Place 5 and Shuan Ireland for Place 6.

Texas CD 25 Hays County Candidate Forum

The candidates for the new 25th Congressional District of Texas will square off in a debate on Sunday evening in Hays County.  For a full day of politics you should attend the Tea Party Express Rally at 2:00 PM on the South Steps of the Texas Capitol with Ted Cruz, Congressman Ron Paul and Senator Rand Paul and then attend this CD 25 candidate forum.

The Hays County Republican Party and North Hays Republican group is hosting the forum and all of the  Republican candidates for CD 25 have been invited.

Ted Cruz Campaign Releases Two New TV Ads

The Ted Cruz for U.S. Senate campaign released two new TV ads that begin airing statewide this week on broadcast and cable featuring Tea Party and Republican Women leaders along with students from the Young Conservative of Texas discussing Cruz’s proven conservative record and Dewhurst’s moderate, tax-and-spend record.

Both ads showcase just a few of the thousands of grassroots supporters who are standing behind Ted in this race, talking about why he is their choice and what they think of David Dewhurst’s record and negative campaigning.

Texas US Senate Debate Tonight- Rs and Ds

Tonight Houston PBS is hosting a live-televised U.S. Senate debate with the major Republican and Democrat candidates from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Each candidate will do a sit down interview with the moderator and then all of the candidates will be on stage and take questions from the moderator.

If you are in Houston you can watch the debate on PBS Channel 8 and it will be simulcast on KUHF-FM 88.7 FM.  If you are not in Houston you can watch it live online at or check your local public radio station or TV station.
